BikeGREEN seeks to aid two of the greatest concerns to our nation and community. Dependence on foreign oil hurts us as a whole, and obesity threatens the well being of many individuals. Seeking to fill a niche need within our community, St. Pete's BikeGREEN initiative was launched in March 2008 by cycling enthusiasts around Pinellas County. Having seen successful Public Utility Bike (PUB) programs in a number of European and American cities, founder Brent Bruns decided the time had come for their own community to benefit from such an initiative.
As with many non-profit organizations, community involvement is key to BikeGREEN's success. Donations of time, funds, bikes, and unique skills determine our sustainability! Please consider a donation to our fund via the web site, or find one of our 15 conveniently placed Altoid vending machines around the city to get a tasty treat in return.
